Rough Carpentry

Rough carpentry, often referred to as framing, is the initial, structural phase of construction that builds the "skeleton" of a structure. It involves erecting wooden or steel components—such as walls, roofs, floors, and beams—that provide strength and support, focusing on structural integrity and building codes rather than final aesthetics.

Jim Fralin Construction being finish grade carpenters, we focus on the final product- even during rough carpentry phases. Your rough in determines your finishes. Our field managers and our office personnel ensure we build a superior product.

It's been this way for 40 years. Jim Fralin Construction has over 100 years experience combined in carpentry, leading the industry with integrity and unmatched quality control services.

Finish Carpentry

Finish carpentry is one of the final stages of construction involving detailed, visible woodwork that makes a building look polished and complete. It focuses on aesthetics and precision- such as installing trim, doors, molding, and cabinetry-occurring after structural framing or rough carpentry and drywall are finished. Jim Fralin Construction offers you master, skilled labor in both rough and finish carpentry, making it a seamless and more turnkey approach.

Some builders we work for are set up with their own inhouse finish carpenters or may have a tenured working relationship with a trim carpenter. In these instances we provide unmatched rough carpentry services and quality to ensure that when each builder does handle their finishes, their trim carpenters aren't having to make any adjustments to openings, walls or rough framing.

Doors & Windows

A door is a movable barrier (wood, glass, metal) secured in a doorway that separates spaces or provides entry/exit. It consists of a frame and a shutter or panel.

A Window is a glazed opening in a wall, which can be operable or fixed, designed primarily to admit light and air.

Door and window installation is the technical process of fitting, fixing, and sealing units into a building's wall openings (also known as fenestration) to ensure structural integrity, weather resistance, and insulation.

Jim Fralin Construction can offer you these services- In addition to door & window install we also handle our own bucking or substrates which are for the door and window attachment. Bucking or substrates get attached directly to the designed openings per common code and engineer specifications.
